Basketball Star!

Julia has come so far in basketball.. from a timid and cautious player to one who is getting in for the rebounds, trying to take the ball away from opponents and making shots. She LOVES bball and has the most amazing coach ever.. we are so fortunate to have found her. Julia has learned so much from her and had such fun.

making her SECOND shot of the night!

 TAKE THAT BALL... Yeah!!

Wonder Woman socks are so awesome....

February Snow!

Superbowl Bet.... paid up!

So my Uncle Stan and my dad used to always bet ten bucks on the football games. I think Uncle Stan rooted for Dallas, not sure. My dad, of course was for the Seahawks. They would find the most hilarious ways to pay up the debt after they lost to the other... the two that I remember were 1. the 10 dollar bill was in a bag of manure 2. 10 bucks in all pennies and in a jar of honey. My cousin, Sarah, and I wanted to bring back the bet since she is a Broncos fan and I am for the Hawks. In the name of our dads paying up in "creative" ways, this is what I received yesterday...
The box is enormous and the Crush soda bottle is stuffed with gummies where we think the money is! Ewwwwww....

My class this year...

Just because we didn't go to the parade like the other half of our class did, does NOT mean that we did not have fun...AND we were warm! :) Goofies....

Granddad's Service

Here are a few of my favorite shots from that cold, honorable, once in a lifetime day....

My mom and her siblings, with my grandparents of course, lived across the street from this chapel at one point. Uncle Richard remembered riding his bike through the cemetery as a child.

It was frigid cold but a lot of us walked the + -mile and half, following the cason to the gravesite.

21 gun salute. There was a 21 artillery salute as well!

Taps....

My mom receiving the flag.

Sweet baby....

We met Emilia the other day! What a sweetie... it was great to see Angela and Laney too...

Baltimore..my dad's old stomping grounds!

All Buchwalds, along with Randy (my cousin's hubby), took a daytrip to Baltimore and enjoyed a narration of memories triggered in my dad as we drove around. It was hard to get photos of everything since we didn't stop everywhere and it was THE COLDEST DAY that day of all the cold days we were there.

Aunt Doris' and my dad's school.

Houses where they used to live...

We stopped for another "crabcakes and bloody mary lunch" and I happened to be sitting between my parents. It was FREEZING in that restaurant but I wanted to take the opportunity to have a photo with them both.

Goofy kids enjoying the Chinese restaurant's inclusion of oranges with the fortune cookies after dinner.
