We went to Portland to meet some friends of ours and spend the night in a hotel so the kids could swim....The next post will be more about that.. When we arrived to the fancy hotel, it was clear that SOMETHING was going on..I inquired and it was called "AnimeCon"... It made me laugh... all these people in wacky hair, makeup and costumes in their subculture having a great time and networking with each other. I love this kind of stuff... Many of the costumes were really spectacular...
Here are a few shots... many of them just hanging around the hotel together. They wanted to be seen and would pose once I got the guts to ASK permission to photograph them. Who is with me on "loving a subculture"?
